For all sorts of reasons, the blog slipped off the plot ……
So, I’m back and I’ll be publishing some of the thousands of photos that have been languishing on my hard drive. Hope you like them
Skye is as good a place to start as any, and this is one of my favourite views of the Black Cuillin ridge.

The magnificent Yr Wyddfa is just over an hour’s drive from where I live – well, the bottom of the mountain is, you then have to get to the top!

Life isn’t all mountains; sometimes we get to socialise with the neighbours, so let’s finish with Mr Jack Daw.

If you like any of the images, feel free to share or use – just give me a mention, that would be cool.

Wondered where you’d got to! Do you still have your dog? or another collie? Seems years since you blogged. Like the jackdaw photo – we have quite a few outside the tea room I frequent most days (it backs onto a farm building).

Hi Carol, yes I’ve been ‘busy doing nothing’ as the song goes. To answer your question(s), ‘Mist’ passed away in 2022 – I posted a wee farewell piece to her, which is at post #320. The plan was to adopt an older collie, but one fit enough to walk the hills – we ended up taking on a young (6 months) labrador/poodle cross, who we renamed ‘Cai’. He was a ball of energy at six months, and is a bigger, stronger ball of energy now at almost four years old. He featured in my last couple of posts before my ‘Time Out’, they are #334 and #335.

It’s possible that I read them back then and now can’t remember – ageing! Haven’t been to Wales since I got stuck into the Munros – I’d sort of like to go back, especially to Snowdon which is my favourite British mountain, but the drive down the busy M6 past Manchester conurbation really puts me off! The motorways are so quiet up here…

Hi Keith and good to hear from you – it got to the stage that there just weren’t enough hours in the week to do a proper job of the blog, so I thought I’d give it a rest for a week or two. That turned into a month or two, then a year or two. In the meantime, I realised that I had loads of photos on disc that deserved a bit of an airing, so that’s the plan for the blog for the immediate future.
BTW, in one of my spare moments I happened to stumble onto a couple of Cath Coll pages on Facebook, so when I have some spare time (ha – hollow laugh!) I’ll post something there. Just out of interest, do you have a copy of the class photo taken in the Third Year? If yes, could you possibly scan it and let me have a copy?
Take care old friend and best wishes, Paul

Thanks for that John. In a reply to another comment on here from an old school friend, I mentioned that I stopped posting for a short rest, and to gather in some interesting material. Instead, we took on a lively young dog, who is quite demanding time-wise – it’s a good job I’m a dog lover!
I still seem to have too much to do in a week to make a proper job of the blog in its old form, but I’m going to use it as a platform to get some of my photos out in the world.
So, thanks for the welcome back – and good to be back!
