#337 – What happened next?

I posted a view of the Cuillins a few days ago and received some great comments, so here are a couple more. The light was getting more interesting as the sun went down, so I started with five shots which I stitched into a panorama, using Affinity software.

The Cuillins from Elgol

Half an hour after the panorama shots, the colour became more dramatic, and I took the second image. For the photographers here, I didn’t edit this shot apart from a small crop to remove half a boat that I hadn’t noticed (!) and a small tweak on White Balance to show the colours as I saw them.

If you like any of the images, feel free to share or use – just give me a mention, that would be cool.

About Paul Shorrock

I've been mucking about in the mountains for longer than I care to mention. I started out by walking my local hills, then went on to rock climbing, mountaineering and skiing. Still doing it, and still getting a buzz. I'm now sharing the fun, through my guided walking business (Hillcraft Guided Walking) and by writing routes for other publishers, mainly Walking World and Discovery Walking Guides. Just to make sure I keep really busy, I am also currently a member of my local mountain rescue team.

  1. Ah Elgol – a wonderful spot. I always think Sgurr na Stri steals the scene! Haven’t done it yet but I hope to – preferably along Glen Sligachan if I can still manage the mileage…
